My friend A is a hospital chaplain and had asked for prayer for her friends G, who was in intensive care with Covid 19.
Good new, G has been released home!
My recycling and garden waste bins were both absolutely full but they've been emptied this morning, (garden waste for the first time since October) so I can tackle the paperwork mountain and the brambles in the garden now. I am very thankful for sensible bin collections.

We've had regular bin collections, PTL. Next week out Household Hazardous Waste* collection site is reopening, and I have found (and used) places for paper shredding and Styrofoam recycling. The Library has opened their used book drop. Also, my second favorite thrift shop has reopened, and my favorite one will in two weeks.
So all the results of my decluttering either have gone, or are about to go to appropriate places, and I'm getting my extra space back.
*"Hazardous Waste" in my case meaning old cans of paint, dead batteries, light bulbs, etc. -- not nuclear waste, just things that shouldn't go down the drain or to a landfill.
For what seemed like a disastrous problem having been found not to be, and the help offered by a friend to sort things out for A - another matter, not the ongoing false witness one.
YaY Tiny Toby!
YaY The Giraffe!
YaY that Aotearoa NZ has had no new cases for 16 days and now has 0 active cases of COVID 19 and will move down to Alert Level 1 tonight.
Borders are still closed.
Yes, there probably be other cases and we all need to record where we have been (diary or App), but this is the day I'm breaking out the bubbly.🍸
I just read an article on the BBC about a carer who moved into a holiday home with her client (who had Down’s syndrome) while she had covid. I would like to give thanks for this wonderful lady and the amazing devotion of people like her who care for others with love https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52876275
In the midst of all the horrors surrounding us, a young couple in my parish just gave birth to their first child, a healthy son. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
Giving thanks that Erin’s baby was delivered safely this morning. As yet unnamed baby is tiny at 4lbs 8oz and was born by C section so they both need a lot of tender care. I wish I could help out, maybe restrictions will be lifted soon.
Edited to add that it’s a boy, but that was no surprise to us!

Lovely news, thank you. Tender prayers for Erin and the baby, and that you'll be able to get involved soon.
Nope, my own was close to that size, and was kept in NICU just so they could make sure he was regulating his own body temp all right. I think they call them "growers and feeders" when they're this big, since that's primarily what they're up to at that point.
Completely out of the blue - I had expected much longer delays - I received the Grant of Probate on The Dowager's estate yesterday. Coincidentally and rather strangely, it would have been her 96th birthday.
I am so relieved that I can now move forward on selling her house. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
And thanks for a lovely, lovely afternoon with a barbecue for Master S, his wife and the Little Welsh Cousin, joined by Miss S, SiL, and Intrepid Grandsons I and II. The babies were so pleased to see each other even though they weren't allowed to interact, and the LWC loved meeting real chickens when we went to buy our weekly egg allowance.
I can't tell you how much joy they brought us (though we are now completely exhausted!) It seems so long since we were all together - at The Dowager's funeral, come to think of it.
I went for a lovely walk in The Night and heard crickets and one owl (the little Eurasian Scops Owl) ..."dark" is a new world
Extra Special Thanks to Curiosity Killed for the idea
Thanks for my faculty colleagues who go out of their way to assist others in the team (today’s example is an academic who is not my supervisor helping facilitate my research).
We have a very dear friend, S, where we used to live - the kindest, gentlest, most giving person you can imagine in human form. A while ago I thought about sending her flowers, for no particular reason, but it slipped my mind till Saturday, when I got myself into gear. Tuesday (today) was the first date I could get, so I booked it.
I had a message to say she was in tears over the flowers. Turns out it was the anniversary of her mother's (fairly recent ) death, so it had been a Very Bad Day for her, and the flowers could not have been more welcome.
Now, there is no way on this earth that I knew it was a special day for her; I am rubbish at dates. So explain to me how, of all the possible days I could have arranged flowers for her, this was the day?
Thank you, kind and generous God and bless you, dear S

His truly mysterious ways sister. Bless you for confirmation
Oh, how wonderful.
I fully understand the relief - it must be a huge weight off your mind, no longer having to look after an empty house and all the stuff that goes with that....

He's not that small, by the way
Indeed not - I was only 3½lb, not that you'd think so to look at me now ...
Huge congratulations all round, and prayers for Little Bee and his mum's continuing health.
