I’d have thought with all the hype that George would have fought a bigger dragon; it looks like a large dog. Disappointed.

I’d buy that advent calendar for Mr Heavenly. I might search one out.

I’d also buy the coffee as gifts for my most discerning friends. 😉

Ok ...

We tend to have lots of paraphernalia, pyxes and thuribles and liturgical 'fans'.

The Ethiopians have liturgical umbrellas which is pretty cool.

But we also have strict rules which curtail some of the more garish and outlandish gadgetry.

I quite like being in a Christian tradition where a helicopter is depicted as though made of wooden planks like an aerial Noah's Ark.

Although I've seen Kalashnikov's on an icon of a Georgian monk martyred by separatists and also a Boeing on an icon of a Greek Saint who is said to have appeared in the clouds and stopped a plane crash.

We also have a good line in funny hats.

But we're getting into vestment territory rather than gadgetry.

If the subject is coffee, may I heartily recommend the Catholic Coffee Company. It has made buying gifts for my Lutheran friend so much more fun!

A friend who travelled to Italy recently brought me back a souvenir: Pope Leo toenail clippers and bottle opener combo.

(It doesn't actually specify toenails - I just think it's funnier.)

I recall getting a "Popener" back when John Paul II was Pope. I wonder where I put it?
