Strange Conversations

Have you ever had s strange conversation with someone? Today I was out walking my dog. Someone who lives in my area, but I do not really know, stopped her car by me and asked, "Are you the one who collects food for the food bank?" Me, "No." Her "You are not the one?" Me, "No I think it is a lady named Valorie." Her "So not you?" Me, "No, not me." She mumbled something and drove away.

    I was deeply moved by a remark someone made to me at a church I was MWing. The date happened to be May 17. A woman sitting near me said the following: "May 17 - that's the day I was married. My husband has been gone a long time and I haven't thought of it in years. But I still have the best part of it - my son!"

    The strangest one I had was with my mailman. I was out in the yard when he came down a neighbor's driveway. He called out, "It is good to see you are still around." Huh?

    I was at a model railway show a few years ago when one of the other exhibitors, well known for his tact, remarked, "I... er.. thought you were dead". I had been somewhat unwell, but it wasn't quite that bad.
