I'm not sure I really quite believed it, despite the emails/texts saying it had happened. But the money is there in my bank account. Eeek. Which brings a whole 'nother set of decisions, but that doesn't have to happen now.
Thanks from my side for a swift, three-week placement of wayward student Z in another school! - Now we can concentrate on some other issues with the dear ones, and hoping to fix some of this until Z is back. - Glad for the very necessary break and the speedy action that was taken!
Heartfelt P&T that The Cough, of two full months' duration, has finally packed its tents and stolen away Thanks also for the anti-histamine that allowed me to sleep lying down (oh joy!) and the inhaler which triggered the cough's departure; and also for the lovely doctor who went to some lengths to ensure everything reasonable had been tried.
I have managed to remember the titles and find all 3 reading books that Dragonlet 1 was sent home with in March when school shut, so I can send them back tomorrow.
So do I. When her mum (my niece, C) was very little, she had a rag-doll (or perhaps several) called Rosie, of whom she was very fond. I recall a particular occasion when David and I were keeping an eye on C, and she would wave the rag-doll in the air and shout "ROSIE!!!"
It tickled David no end, and I think he'll be smiling from Heaven - he was very fond of C.
My friend has been contacted by someone he has been wanting to re-establish contact with over most of this year. He had been afraid the person did not want contact, and would tell him not to contact him again, but he wants to keep in touch.
Giving thanks for the good life of the last of my ancient aunts, who died this morning. An especially fine old lady who always spoke her mind, feared nobody, and was an active supporter of Amnesty International. Long ago she had a boyfriend who had a string of great cars - a perfect friend for the very young me - but she never married. The great sadness in her life was that she had no memory of her mother, who died at an early age. Goodbye, Vera!
Everyone needs a wonderful old aunt (or great-aunt). I was blessed to have a pair of them. May Aunt Vera rest in peace and rise in glory, and may her memory be a blessing.

I too have managed a significant milestone - finally raked in the last substantial sum of The Dowager's estate! Now for the fun part - dishing it out!

I just hope it's gone for good!

@ECraigR that sounds like the most wonderful occupation during lockdown. How exciting!
