    We saw a cockroach in a trendy bar restaurant in Japan, spotlessly clean premises but a basement bar. I guess it must be difficult in hot humid countries, especially in urban basements. First time I have seen one ‘in the wild’ but seeing it reminded me not to leave my bag on the floor!

    Still very nice in West Lothian: max of 20°, making my amble along to the optician to pick up contact lens cleaning stuff quite enjoyable.

    Will someone remind me I have a checkup appointment with them next Tuesday?
