I believe this church has permanently closed and their parking lot is used for overflow parking at what used to be the University of Phoenix Stadium -- now the State Farm Stadium.

It's sad to hear of a church being closed, especially one which had a full house on the day of the Report, but nothing lasts forever.

There doesn't appear to be a website any longer, so perhaps you're right, and the church is indeed defunct.

It doesn't even show as a church anymore in Google Maps. Pity -- I've moved to a new apartment just a few blocks away, and I was hoping to drop in some Sunday.

Well, I for one look forward to your MW Reports on the many other churches in your area. Maybe one day this not unpleasing building (it chimes in well with my minimalist architectural likings!) will again be used for religious purposes?

The photo, by the way, at the head of the comment is of St. Andrew's Church, also in the area, which I recently MWd. The photo in the report itself is the correct one. The comment fell victim to the bug that plagues comments filed on reports ported over from the old Ship.

I'm off to Oceanside, California, the second weekend of July, and I've already set my sights on a church there to MW. Until then, though, I don't have any plans to "do" another church in my neighborhood. I've had second thoughts about making St. Andrew's my "regular", although I do have another nearby church in mind. I probably won't MW it, though.
