Pleasantly warm here for youngest grandson’s 5 birthday. Suitably, I gave his pushchair to an ex colleague whose smaller grandson will be visiting from Japan next month. We had a very good catch up chat with her.
It's Too Hot For Me already and I gather there's Worse To Come. The hay fever also grimly continues.
I've been out and about all day meeting with various friends, and had a zoom meeting earlier this evening. We had Very Lazy Curry for tea because I have zero enthusiasm for cooking just now.
Tomorrow morning Mr Nen and I are braving our nearest shopping mall for various bits to augment our outfits for Nenlet2's wedding next month. I dislike shopping unless it's for books, so I'll be glad when that's achieved.
Too warm for me too. I managed to sit out for a hour or so this evening when the breeze picked up.
Green Thai fish (dogfish) curry and sticky rice for tea.
How about the Black Bitch? Did she feature in the celebrations? I hope people at least stopped to pat her as they went by.
I was watching from right across the road from her statue; I can see it from my flat, and always give her a little wave or a smile as I go past.
I think there may have been a willow tree with a wee dog on the side of one of the floats, but that might actually have been in the rather vivid dream I was having just before I woke up ... 😴
I think there is something wrong with my body thermostat. I went out shopping earlier, it was 17 degrees so pleasant. However everyone else (well, most of them) seemed to be wearing short-sleeved shirts or other summer garb. Me? I was wearing a vest, shirt and light pullover and felt comfortable.
Conversely I often feel hot in bed at night, even in winter with a fairly thin duvet.
More late comments:
When we. went comprehensive, one of the local councillors gave a speech at the opening talking about this “splendid orifice “
“Marches “ to me is the debatable area along the Wales/England border. It sounds like your Marches are good fun Piglet!

IIRC, you once spent a fair amount of time working abroad in a hot climate. I wonder if that altered your internal thermostat? It probably doesn't explain your warmth at night, though...
Hot again in Arkland the Shrivelled - about 24C/76F - with very light Breezes.
I went out Shopp Ing earlier, to miss the hottest part of the day, only to discover that lots of people with enormous loads of groceries were queuing up at the Tess Coe tills. There was no-one at the Self-Service tills, except for the two Nice Ladies there to assist the Old and Feeble, so one of them (acting as today's Angel Of The Lord) kindly did the job for me. I was in and out of the store in 20 minutes!
BTW, I noticed that not only are there still no Pilchards to be had, but that Sardines have also largely disappeared. I enjoy the occasional Sardines on Toast as a supper-time snack, but only Mackerel was available, so I'll try that instead. They are supplied in all sorts of exotic sauces, but I went for the plain Tomato sauce version.
Peak temperature of 28 here, I think. Usual work admin done and then I finished altering a vintage skirt which I cut the waistband off last week. It now has a bigger and elasticated waistband that fits me.
Tea will be red mullet fillets accompanied by Gigantes Plaki with Feta (baked butter beans). Which definitely needs a glass of wine to accompany it. I’m looking forward to my summer holiday (Northumberland so plenty of fish) as cooking currently seems the only excitement in my life since term ended! Master Heavenly the Younger is faring better and has just arrived in Australia with his girlfriend, who has relatives there.
A mere six weeks after the rest of the bed; eight days after the spare parts place said they'd been sent first class; and about ten minutes after I'd phoned said spare parts place to ask why they weren't here yet.
Now to co-ordinate with my brother about the assembly ...
Slightly cooler here today (high of 18°), but still quite nice.
As the forecast is getting a bit scorchio, I've stocked up on salads and suchlike, upon which I shall feast for the next wee while.
Yes, if you put enough of it on the plate, and give it the company of a ready-to-eat salmon fillet*.
* you didn't think I was just going to eat rabbit-food, did you??? Actually the salads in question were potato salad, coleslaw, couscous with mint dressing and avocado and tomato with vinaigrette, so, almost a feast, even before I added the salmon.
Still rather hot here. I went to the nice city to the east with my husband yesterday for a mooch round the shops. He bought a shirt, but I couldn't find anything I liked in the right size.
Today I was up early watering the garden and washing the towels. I then went out leafleting ahead of the by-election the week after next. Not a great response from the voters I met which was a bit disheartening. My husband was organising a vigil outside the Quaker Meeting house about the situation in the Middle East so I popped in to give them some support, before heading home. They got a good response, plus quite a few people discovering the Meeting House.
This evening was a council meeting. For various reasons we were a bit thin on the ground, including not having either the chair or vice-chair. The councillor that took over moved things on at a cracking pace which meant I've got home at a sensible time.

You may be right, although we've been back in Britain for nearly 40 years.
I also feel cold after swimming (in a heated pool!) - not at once, but about 45 minutes or so later, when I get home. On Tuesday I was like Peter in the Bible, warming myself by the fire for a few minutes (although his wasn't electric).
It's another warm, partly sunny day in West Lothian; I'm sitting under a tree eating my lunch (a roll with cream cheese and smoked salmon, since you ask).
It's pretty close to being Optimum Piglet Temperature™, so I'm a contented piglet.
Lip reading this morning and charity bookshop this afternoon. Neither place was too hot, but the walk home certainly was.
So sorry to hear about your cat @Priscilla. What a nasty shock.
We are on Ynys Mon and it is Bloody Hot Round Here. Given that there is not a cloud in the sky and the locals, who speak an impenetrable tongue, fail to understand me when I speak English loudly and slowly, I am concerned that we took a wrong turn, missed Wales completely, and I am in fact in Forn Parts.
28C in Arkland the Waterless (which is about 82F in English), with a high of 90F forecast for Saturday. Proper summer weather, but likely to be a bit breezier next week
It is Just A Bit Too Hot for doing anything active (like Paint Ing)...
The front part of my house is cool, especially with all curtains and blinds closed at the back which is south-facing. I haven’t even needed the fan yet today.
I’ve been working on my tax return! Preferable to doing anything at all outside.
The Ark is equipped with Portholes on starboard and port sides of the accommodation (four each side), but they are fairly small. With a fresh Breeze blowing, a nice through draught can be gotten, but such a Breeze is something which at the moment In Our Case We Have Not Got.
My little desk-top Fan is presently sitting close to me as I write, so I'm reasonably comfortable.
SALMON FISH CAKE for Tea, possibly with BAKED BEANS. I had the other Fish Cake (they come in pairs from Tess Coe) earlier, with POTATO SALAD and WATERCRESS.

I confess to being very glad I've never had to do a tax return. I'd be paranoid I was doing it wrong or lost something I needed and would end up with a tax evasion conviction.
I'm with Karl - I've always worked at places where Somebody Else works out how much His (actually for most of my working life it was Her) Majesty's Revenue & Customs wants from me.
Had a missive in the post today from the DWP, informing me (rather unnecessarily) that I shall qualify for the State Pension in February 2029, i.e. a little under four years' time. Why do they need to do this? I know that I'll be 67 in four years' time, and that I shan't qualify for the pension until two years later than I once thought - I don't need some Government flunkey to tell me!
It was a lovely day here; just topping at 21°, which is Nice. Tomorrow, according to the Met Office, it's going to be 28°, which Isn't.
Supper was the other salmon fillet (like BF's fish cakes, they come in pairs), with assorted salads, and really rather nice.
We had pizza and salad for tea which we ate under the tree in our garden. It was actually quite cool, even though it was still hot elsewhere on the Sarasa estate. We then went for a walk in a local RSPB nature reserve. We saw no other humans but saw and heard quite a few birds.
Tea here was hunters chicken, with mushrooms in cream. We then went to our weekly church group where we had a short prayer walk through their village (praying for the villagers and the local church, etc).
Too hot for me.
The actual temperature as forecast on the BBC website is not too bad, but if you can't get out of direct sunlight it very quickly becomes unbearable.
Am doing an hour or so of pottering outside before breakfast, then retreating indoors until there is at least 2metres of shade outside the french doors, when I can bear to be outside for the evening.
I fixed up the foil 'emergency blanket' to my west-facing bedroom window on Tuesday, and am so glad I did, it really keeps the room cool for most of the day. Would do it to the french doors, too, but Mr RoS would be too cold, so I just keep them and the curtains closed until the aforementioned 2m of shade has arrived outside.
My outdoor tomatoes were very slow starting because of the cold winds but are romping away like mad now, side shoots growing at an alarming rate - several have to be broken off at least every other day. I have stuck some in a plant pot to root, they and some late seedlings are ready to be planted out but the hot weather is not going to help them establish.
Hey Ho, what happened to the temperate British climate of my youth?

Oops - was a slow reply to Piglet's above.

Pilchards exist in Waitrose, they come in a pretty tin https://www.waitrose.com/ecom/products/cornish-pilchard-fillets-in-olive-oil/025657-12514-12515 I see that some of their John West sardines are sold out though.

THE CASTORS HAVE ARRIVED!!! 😃
Where's that "yipee" smilie when I need it??

I'm worried for my tomatoes and they are growing outside!
My friend is off to California and Nevada tomorrow to cool down. They have air conditioning there!
I have brought out our tower fan, my wife is sitting in the shade in the garden.
So sorry to hear about your cat @Priscilla. What a nasty shock.
It is far too fucking hot. 27.5C hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate
We had a happy holiday there a couple of years ago, near Beaumaris.

Watering has been accomplished and then the ice cream van arrived at a very auspicious moment ...
