Pleasantly warm here for youngest grandson’s 5 birthday. Suitably, I gave his pushchair to an ex colleague whose smaller grandson will be visiting from Japan next month. We had a very good catch up chat with her.
It's Too Hot For Me already and I gather there's Worse To Come. The hay fever also grimly continues.
I've been out and about all day meeting with various friends, and had a zoom meeting earlier this evening. We had Very Lazy Curry for tea because I have zero enthusiasm for cooking just now.
Tomorrow morning Mr Nen and I are braving our nearest shopping mall for various bits to augment our outfits for Nenlet2's wedding next month. I dislike shopping unless it's for books, so I'll be glad when that's achieved.

I was watching from right across the road from her statue; I can see it from my flat, and always give her a little wave or a smile as I go past.
I think there may have been a willow tree with a wee dog on the side of one of the floats, but that might actually have been in the rather vivid dream I was having just before I woke up ... 😴

Conversely I often feel hot in bed at night, even in winter with a fairly thin duvet.

I went out Shopp Ing earlier, to miss the hottest part of the day, only to discover that lots of people with enormous loads of groceries were queuing up at the Tess Coe tills. There was no-one at the Self-Service tills, except for the two Nice Ladies there to assist the Old and Feeble, so one of them (acting as today's Angel Of The Lord) kindly did the job for me. I was in and out of the store in 20 minutes!
BTW, I noticed that not only are there still no Pilchards to be had, but that Sardines have also largely disappeared. I enjoy the occasional Sardines on Toast as a supper-time snack, but only Mackerel was available, so I'll try that instead. They are supplied in all sorts of exotic sauces, but I went for the plain Tomato sauce version.
Peak temperature of 28 here, I think. Usual work admin done and then I finished altering a vintage skirt which I cut the waistband off last week. It now has a bigger and elasticated waistband that fits me.
Tea will be red mullet fillets accompanied by Gigantes Plaki with Feta (baked butter beans). Which definitely needs a glass of wine to accompany it. I’m looking forward to my summer holiday (Northumberland so plenty of fish) as cooking currently seems the only excitement in my life since term ended! Master Heavenly the Younger is faring better and has just arrived in Australia with his girlfriend, who has relatives there.
A mere six weeks after the rest of the bed; eight days after the spare parts place said they'd been sent first class; and about ten minutes after I'd phoned said spare parts place to ask why they weren't here yet.
Now to co-ordinate with my brother about the assembly ...

As the forecast is getting a bit scorchio, I've stocked up on salads and suchlike, upon which I shall feast for the next wee while.

* you didn't think I was just going to eat rabbit-food, did you??? Actually the salads in question were potato salad, coleslaw, couscous with mint dressing and avocado and tomato with vinaigrette, so, almost a feast, even before I added the salmon.
Still rather hot here. I went to the nice city to the east with my husband yesterday for a mooch round the shops. He bought a shirt, but I couldn't find anything I liked in the right size.
Today I was up early watering the garden and washing the towels. I then went out leafleting ahead of the by-election the week after next. Not a great response from the voters I met which was a bit disheartening. My husband was organising a vigil outside the Quaker Meeting house about the situation in the Middle East so I popped in to give them some support, before heading home. They got a good response, plus quite a few people discovering the Meeting House.
This evening was a council meeting. For various reasons we were a bit thin on the ground, including not having either the chair or vice-chair. The councillor that took over moved things on at a cracking pace which meant I've got home at a sensible time.

You may be right, although we've been back in Britain for nearly 40 years.
I also feel cold after swimming (in a heated pool!) - not at once, but about 45 minutes or so later, when I get home. On Tuesday I was like Peter in the Bible, warming myself by the fire for a few minutes (although his wasn't electric).

Pilchards exist in Waitrose, they come in a pretty tin https://www.waitrose.com/ecom/products/cornish-pilchard-fillets-in-olive-oil/025657-12514-12515 I see that some of their John West sardines are sold out though.
