  • I don't do that; but I do fill the kettle and wonder why it's taking so long to boil ...

I occassionally put me in a frying pan and only realize minutes later that I forgot to add heat.

    Probably just as well.

Mrs Gramps had a senior moment this weekend. We had gone to eat with some friends at a restaurant we often go to, so much so, Mrs Gramps has her phone number listed where we can deduct points earned from previous visits. When the waitress asked for Mrs Gramps number, Mrs Gramps drew a blank on the last four numbers. Embarrassing for her. Concerning for me.

I do that now and again, with phone and SS number. If I wait a minute, it comes back. I do not see it as a cause for worry, just an older brain searching through a lifetime of info.

There’s also the fact that i rarely call my own number…

Both our current phone number and post code have elements that are similar to our old ones, so I have to think about what I am actually saying. If my mind is elsewhere and I am giving the number 'on autopilot' there is a chance I will give the wrong one.

Nowadays I am usually right about the phone, as I always answer the house phone by saying the number and it is becoming ingrained. I do not know what my mobile number is, apart from the last 3 digits.

I have no idea why I have, a couple of times in recent years written my signature using my maiden name. I have been married to Mr RoS for 52 years!
  • Just getting the hang of it, then ...

I constantly forget my cellphone number. In my defense, I have had a cellphone for less than a year and very few people have my number.

I had a good shower today and washed my hair. Climbed out of the shower without falling over (good!) .... very pleased. Then realised I hadn't rinsed mine hoary locks. Oh dear. Climb back into shower .....
Time for a little rest before brecky-poohs ......

I frequently forget to wet my beard before applying soap to it.

I had a cracker today. Cleaned my shoes with insect repellent instead of shoe cleaner. (The aerosols are quite similar.)

Well, the shoes are clean, and it should keep the midges away.

    Cream, Christmas or nut?

I tried to clean my teeth not with toothpaste, but with germoloids 4 in 1 action ointment. The tubes look very similar. Germoloid tastes horrible. I've not (yet) applied Sensodyne to my piles.

I don't think I neaded to hear that.
  • I did wash load of dark clothes in the week.
To my dismay, there were little white specs over the washed clothes, in spite me checking all the pockets before loading the machine. I went through it all again, to find the culprit and found evidence all over one trouser pocket - but not on the surface I expected.

I have concluded that the only reason a tissue could have been in that pocket, that way round, was that I went to church on Sunday with my trousers on inside out.
  • Oh dear! You make me feel so much better. Because I've done stuff like that.
